For little ones (ages 3 to 7)

Gentle, warm stories from the fairies who help run the post office, written to be read aloud together. Along the way children meet some of Tasmania's native animals, and many letters end with a real animal fact to learn and share.

For bigger kids (ages 8 to 12)

A mystery told one letter at a time, with codes to crack, clues to follow and pieces of Fingal's real history woven in. Fingal Post Office was one of Tasmania's first 20 post offices (1832), and its stories are hidden in every letter.

Come and visit

Our post office is a real, working post office, and the building in the letters is the building in town. Families are welcome to drop in, say hello and see how many things from the stories they can spot.

Questions

Who are the letters addressed to?

Each letter is addressed to your child by name, so it arrives just for them.

Can I choose which series?

Yes. Choose the series that suits your child's age. Families with children in both age groups can register interest in both.

Can the letters be personalised?

We are planning a personalised option with extra details about your child. Register your interest and we will share more when it is ready.

Do you post outside Tasmania?

Letters are posted anywhere in Australia through Australia Post, from our little counter in Fingal to letterboxes right across the country. We are not posting overseas yet. The fairies are still learning to fly that far.

Can we visit the post office?

Absolutely. Fingal Post Office is open during normal trading hours, and we love meeting our letter readers.
