Make something good in the Fingal Valley? We'd love to put it on our shelves.

The Fingal Valley is full of clever producers, crafters and makers, and the Fingal Post Office is the perfect little shopfront for them. Jams, honey, preserves and pantry goods, books, jewellery, crafts, cards and art: if it's made locally and made with care, we want to hear from you.

How it works

• You set your own prices.
• We sell on consignment, in store at Fingal Post Office and online through the Fingal Valley Larder shop.
• We keep a commission on each sale, and pay you for what's sold (see below).
• Your stock stays yours until it sells.
• You supply the products, and we handle all the postage. We pack and post every online order from Fingal Post Office, so you never have to ship anything yourself.

Who can sell

• Makers in the Fingal Valley area and immediate surrounds.
• Every product must be made in Tasmania.
• William approves every listing himself.

Commission

• Our commission is 30% of the sale price, with a $2 minimum per item unless we agree a different rate with you.
• Items that sell for over $500 are charged 25%.
• Commission includes GST.
• Bulky or difficult items may carry a handling fee, which we'll agree with you upfront.

Payouts are monthly, at the end of each month.

Prefer a different rate? You can propose one on the application form. We can negotiate, accept or reject a proposed rate.

For example: a $5 item pays you $3 (the $2 minimum commission applies), and a $100 item pays you $70.

Food sellers

If you sell food, you'll need your council food business registration (or notification) and labels that meet the Food Standards Code before we can list your products.
