Book your nights

One group per night. Hunting gets cheaper every night you stay, and camping is book 4 nights, get the 5th free. Check-in from 3 pm, check-out by 1 pm on the day you leave.

Sunrise over a farm paddock with round hay bales

Just want to camp? That's welcome too, no shooting required. Choose "Camping only (no shooting)" when you book. Camping $110 a night per group. Hunting from $192.50 per hunter, first night.

How it works

Each booking is for one group only. We don't grant year-round or exclusive hunting rights, so the property may host a different group on another night. Bookings are per night: check-in from 3 pm, check-out by 1 pm on the day you leave. Take all your rubbish with you when you leave.

Timeline of a stay: check in from 3 pm, induction by 6:30 pm, check out by 1 pm

All hunting operates under Tasmanian regulations. Bring your firearms licence, plus a game licence if you take wallaby or deer off the farm or hunt ducks or quail in season.

Before you book, a quick reality check

We're a rough, working highland farm with steep tracks, creeks, rocks and scrub, cold nights, changeable weather and patchy phone coverage. There are no facilities. If that sounds like your kind of place, you'll love it. Please make sure your group has:

  • a 4WD or high clearance vehicle
  • good boots and warm, wet weather gear
  • all your own water, food, shelter and first aid
  • your own firewood, or add camper firewood when you book (small quantities, $55 incl GST, subject to availability)
  • a UHF CB radio

Prices: hunting from $192.50 per hunter, first night (see hunting prices), camping only $110 a night per group.

The farm map

Farm field map of Fonthill and Pig Creek on Tower Hill Road, showing the indicative boundary, access and fence-line tracks, gates 1 to 9, hazards, the 125 m no-shoot zone around the homestead, the neighbouring property where there is no hunting, and the pink private access only stretch of Fonthill Rd
Tap the map to open it full size and zoom in. Fonthill Rd between Gate 9 and Gate 2 (pink) is private access only. No shooting within 125 m of the homestead and buildings. A guide only, not to scale and not a legal boundary survey: always follow your induction.

Before you arrive

Have these sorted before you pick your nights:

  • Check-in from 3 pm. Latest arrival for induction is 6 pm, as inductions must be finished by 6:30 pm. Running late? Call or text William on 0449 575 905. Check-out by 1 pm on the day you leave.
  • Until the induction is done: no shooting, firearms stay unloaded and cased, and you can only set up in the camp setup area.
  • Bring a UHF CB radio (handheld or vehicle), so we can contact you and you can contact us. Use the farm UHF channel (given at induction).
  • Farm gates remain closed and locked at all times. Your gate code is sent in your pre-arrival email. Lost it? Call or text 0449 575 905.
  • Please bring your own firewood. Small quantities of camper firewood (enough for a couple of days) are available at $55 inc GST, subject to availability. Larger loads of sustainable firewood won't be available until winter 2028. Follow Total Fire Ban days and fire restrictions from the Tasmania Fire Service. No campfires on total fire ban days.
  • A current firearms licence for every shooter.
  • Proof of current public liability insurance, for example an SSAA membership card (join SSAA). We'll sight it at induction along with your licences.
  • Hunting is available year round. Game ducks and brown quail can only be taken in their open season, and you need a game licence for them.
  • Shooters aged 14 to 17 must hold a Tasmanian minor's permit for field shooting and be directly supervised by an insured adult who has held a full firearms licence for at least a year. No under-14s in the field.
  • An adult as your named group lead, who attends the induction and coordinates the group on site, including who is shooting where on the map.
  • Hi-vis recommended: an orange vest or cap.
  • One checkout / take return per group (take numbers, optional photos and stay review), sent before you leave or within 24 hours, so we can keep accurate records.
  • Agreement to our hunting waiver (v1.4) and our site induction. Booking just for yourself? You sign the waiver online when you book. Booking for a group? Every shooter prints, fills in and signs their own copy of the waiver PDF and brings it to the induction.
  • Guests never operate farm machinery.

  • No one under 16 drives.
