Share the farm

Run your own enterprise on our regenerative farm at Tower Hill

We're a regenerative share farm at Tower Hill, and there's room for more good people on the land.

Room to grow

We farm about 900 acres of Tower Hill, in Tasmania's Fingal Valley. We own our Pig Creek farm and lease Fonthill Farm next door (more about the farm). We're slowly bringing it back to life with pigs, cattle, trees and a lot of hard work, and we know we can't do it all ourselves.

So we're open to hearing from people who'd like to run their own enterprise on part of the land, working alongside us. If you've got an idea and the get up and go to make it happen, we'd love to have a yarn.

What a share farm could look like

We're open to all sorts of enterprises. Here are a few ideas to get you thinking, but they're only ideas.

Fresh veg grown on our soil and sold close to home.

Pencil sketch of mobile chicken caravans and coops on pasture, with hens in the grass

Pastured poultry or eggs

Birds out on the grass, moving with the paddocks.

Pencil sketch of chunky thick-walled insulated foam hives with bees flying around them, among flowering trees and pasture

Bees

Hives among the trees as our silvopasture planting starts flowering.

Jersey cows standing in long pasture

Cattle or sheep

Grazing that fits in with our rotations and builds the pastures up.

Pencil sketch of rows of young trees planted across a hillside pasture, with cattle grazing between the rows

Agroforestry

Trees, timber, fruit or nuts, grown as part of a working farm.

Value-adding

Turning what the farm grows into something more, like preserves, smallgoods or baked treats.

Got another idea? We'd love to hear it.

What we're looking for

People who care about regenerative practice, animal welfare and the land, and who are keen to build something for the long term with us. You don't need to have it all worked out, but you do need to love getting your boots dirty.

How it works

Every share farm is different. What works depends on the enterprise and what it needs, like how much land, water and infrastructure. So we take it case by case and work it out together, one on one.

Three steps: tell us your idea, have a chat one on one, and agree what fits

What we can bring to the table could include:

  • Access to land and some of our farm infrastructure.
  • Shared marketing, through our farm shop, the Fingal Post Office and the markets.
  • What we've learnt so far, including plenty of mistakes we're happy to help you avoid.

Accommodation

We don't provide accommodation on the farm, so sharefarmers bring their own, like a tiny house or something similar. Let us know what you have in mind and we can talk it through.

Tell us about your idea

Fill this in and we'll be in touch for a chat. There's no commitment either way.
