Camping booking terms
Camping only, no shooting. Booking terms version 1.5 (separate from the camping waiver, also v1.5).
Pig Creek Homestead Pty Ltd (ABN 94 635 523 385), trading as Primal Pastures Tasmania Mangana TAS. Postal: PO Box 404, Fingal TAS 7214 Version 1.5, 24 October 2026
These terms apply to every camping only booking. They form part of your booking contract together with the Camping Waiver, Release and Acknowledgement of Risk (camping only, version 1.5), which is shown to you in full before you pay.
1. What you are booking
- A camping only stay on the Property for one group, for the nights booked. No shooting or hunting is allowed. Firearms must not be taken out of vehicles.
- Each booking is for one group only. A booking gives no exclusive, year-round or ongoing rights to the land. Your group is the only booking on the Property that night. We may host other groups on other nights.
- We may carry out our own shooting and pest control on the Property, by day or night, including spotlighting. Shooting may also occur on neighbouring land.
2. Price and payment
- $110 per night, per group (includes $10 GST). Book 4 nights in a row, get the 5th free: for a run of 5 or more consecutive nights, every night in that run is charged at 80% of the nightly rate ($88 instead of $110, includes $8 GST), so 5 nights cost the same as 4 ($440).
- Payment is made in full when you book, through Square. Unpaid holds are released after 30 minutes.
- Minimum stay: Friday and Saturday nights need a minimum 2-night stay all year, and every booking in fallow buck season (late February to early April) needs at least 2 nights. Sunday to Thursday you can book a single night outside buck season.
3. Waiver and signing
- One person: sign the waiver online at booking with your full name and date of birth. We record the date, time and waiver version.
- Groups: print the waiver, have every camper sign it (a responsible adult signs for each camper under 18) and bring it to the induction. No one may set up camp until they have signed.
- The group lead cannot agree to the waiver on behalf of other adults.
4. Under 18s
Campers under 18 must be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult from the group, who signs the waiver for them.
5. Induction and rules
- Primal Pastures is a working farm. Staff and contractors may be on site from time to time, so always positively identify your target and what's beyond it, and treat any vehicle or person as present.
- Every group must bring a UHF CB radio (handheld or vehicle), so we can contact you and you can contact us. We give you the channel at the induction or in your pre-arrival email.
- You may set up camp in the camp setup area before the induction. Every camper must then complete our induction. Until the induction is done, there is no shooting, and any firearms stay unloaded and cased.
- While you are camping on the Property, we may carry out our own shooting and pest control, by day or night, including spotlighting. At the site induction we will show you the areas where we will be active. Stay out of those areas.
- Stay within the marked camping areas and on the tracks shown at induction. Wear high-visibility clothing when we ask.
- Follow the campfire rules: no fires on Total Fire Ban days, use only the marked fire sites and bring your own firewood or use camper firewood bought from us.
- There is no water, power, toilets or showers. Bring all of your own supplies and facilities, and take all rubbish with you.
- Music is permitted in the Fonthill Farm camping areas.
- No cutting or collecting timber, no washing or toilet within 50 metres of any creek or dam, and no fireworks.
- Pets must be on a lead or securely contained at all times, and inside your tent or vehicle after dark.
- We may end a stay without a refund for the remaining nights for a safety breach or other serious breach of these terms or the waiver.
6. Cancellations and refunds
- If you cancel more than 7 days before your booked date, we'll refund you within a week, less a cancellation fee of $22 plus 2.2% of the booking total.
- If you cancel within 7 days of your booking start date, or don't turn up, there's no change-of-mind refund. This doesn't affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, or a refund or new date if we cancel (see below).
- We may decline a booking, or cancel one, if the property isn't safe or available (for example fire danger, flooding, storm damage or farm work), or if the booking terms or farm rules haven't been met. If we decline or cancel, you'll choose between a full refund within a week, including processing fees, or a new date.
To cancel, email [email protected] with your booking reference.
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not affected by these terms.
7. Liability
The release, indemnity and Australian Consumer Law exclusion are set out in the waiver. If these terms and the waiver differ on safety, risk or liability, the waiver prevails.
8. Privacy
We use your name, date of birth and contact details only to manage your booking and keep a record of your signed waiver.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Tasmania.
