Privacy policy
How we look after your details, in plain English.
Last updated: 26 October 2026
We're Pig Creek Homestead Pty Ltd (ABN 94 635 523 385), trading as Primal Pastures Tasmania and running Fingal Post Office. We're a small family business and we take your privacy seriously. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
This policy covers our website forms. Australia Post services you use at Fingal Post Office (like PO Boxes, parcels and bill payments) are covered by Australia Post's privacy policy.
What we collect
- Stockfeed orders: your name, mobile, email, delivery address or pickup choice, your order and subscription details.
- Hunting bookings: the group contact's name, phone and email, your nights and group size, and for each shooter: full name and residential address, firearms licence number, category, issuing state and expiry, the species you'll hunt, your declaration about relevant wildlife offences, for deer hunters your rifle calibre, load and calibre declaration, whether you'll take anything off the property and, if so, your Tasmanian game licence number and expiry, hunting insurance provider, membership or policy number and expiry, and your acknowledgement of the safety conditions. Your vehicle rego (required, or N/A if you're being dropped off). Rego and plate-camera images are used for security, kept only for the minimum period required by law, then deleted. If you don't give us these details, we can't take your booking.
- Waivers and age: when you sign a waiver online, we keep your typed name (your e-signature), date of birth, the waiver version, the time you signed and your browser details, plus a parent or guardian's name and e-signature for anyone under 18. For groups, we keep each person's signed paper waiver from the induction.
- Take returns: your booking reference or lead name, the dates you hunted, and the species and numbers taken (or "Nothing taken"), so we can keep accurate records.
- Why we ask for licence numbers: licence and insurance numbers are sensitive, so we only collect them, with your offence declaration and firearm details, to check every shooter is licensed, insured and eligible, and to meet our legal record-keeping obligations. They're kept in our private bookings sheet, only William and the people who run bookings can see them, they're never shown on the website or shared except where the law requires it, and they're deleted once we no longer need to keep them by law.
- Vehicle rego and plate cameras: bookings collect the rego of each vehicle coming, and we use plate-camera monitoring on the main tracks for property security. We keep these records as set out below.
- Christmas ham pre-orders: your name, contact details, the hams you order and your collection point.
- Contact form: your name, email, phone if you give it, the topic and your message.
- Notify-me sign up: your name, email, postcode if you give it, and the products you're interested in.
- Letters Through Time interest: your name, email, child's age group, and your child's first name when you give it for the envelope.
- Share farm expression of interest: your name, contact details, where you're based, your enterprise idea, experience, timeframe and accommodation plans.
Payments are handled by Square. We never see or store your full card number.
The website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. Embedded maps and videos only load (and only set their own cookies) after you press play or "Show the map". Our website host (Cloudflare) keeps standard technical logs, such as IP addresses, for security. We don't run analytics.
Why we collect it
- To fill your order, deliver it or have it ready for pickup, and to bill you.
- For hunting: to hold your booking, run your site induction, and keep the records the law requires.
- To answer your questions, and to email you about the next processing dates if you've asked us to.
- To keep the records the law asks us to keep, like tax records.
We won't sell your details. We only send marketing emails if you've signed up, every email has an unsubscribe link, and we act on it within 5 business days.
Where it's stored
Form details are kept in private Google Sheets and Apps Script, and emails in Gmail (Google). Payments are handled by Square. Our website is hosted by Cloudflare, which keeps basic server logs, such as IP addresses, for security. These providers may store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States.
Only people who need it get access, and our accounts are password protected.
Who sees it
- Our family team: William, and Maria at the Post Office.
- Square, to take your payment.
- For hunting, we may share guest and shooter details with relevant Tasmanian authorities where required by law.
- Anyone else only if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Orders, bookings and payment records: as long as tax law requires, usually 5 years.
- Signed waivers and dates of birth: 3 years after your stay, or until the youngest guest turns 21 if anyone was under 18.
- Take returns: 2 years.
- Vehicle rego and plate-camera records: for a limited period, unless needed for a security incident or the law requires longer.
- After that, these records are deleted securely.
- Shooter licence and insurance details: we keep these only for as long as the law requires, and no longer.
- Contact messages and share farm enquiries: only as long as we need them to reply and follow up.
- Notify-me list: until you ask us to take you off. Every email will tell you how.
When we don't need your details any more, we delete them.
Tower Hill history stories
If you send us a story or photos through the "Share your Tower Hill story" form, we keep your name, email, story, photos and captions so we can research and publish Tower Hill's history. If we quote you, we show your first name (or the credit you choose) only. Your email stays private: we use it only to contact you about your story. Ask us at any time and we'll remove your story and photos.
Reviews
If you leave a review, we keep your first name, email, what you did, the date, your rating, your review and any photo. We only publish reviews you've agreed to, with your first name only, and we may lightly edit them for length and spelling. Your email stays private and is used only if we need to contact you about your review. Ask us at any time and we'll take your review down.
Videos from other sites
Some pages offer videos hosted by other services, such as Facebook. Nothing loads from them until you choose to play the video. Once you do, that service may set cookies and collect information under its own privacy policy.
Children's details (Letters Through Time)
If you register interest in Letters Through Time, we keep your contact details and your child's first name so we can put their name on the envelope. We hold those details while a series runs and for a short time after, then we delete them. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete them sooner by emailing [email protected].
Fingal Valley Larder orders, enquiries and makers
If you order from or enquire with Fingal Valley Larder, we use your name, contact details and delivery address only to answer you and fill your order.
If you're a maker getting in touch through Sell with us, we use your contact details and product information only to assess and manage your consignment with us.
Seeing or fixing your details
You can ask to see the details we hold about you, or ask us to correct them, any time. Email us or pop into the Post Office. We'll reply within 30 days and there's no charge.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your details, please tell us first and we'll do our best to fix it within 30 days. If you're still not happy, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
