Share your weather station
Help us build better local forecasts for the Fingal Valley.

Got an electronic weather station on your place? We'd love to hear from you.
We run a small, locally managed AI weather model for the Fingal Valley and surrounds. Big national models miss what locals know: the valley walls, wind funnelling down the valley, rain shadows, the frost pockets, and the cold air that drains down the gullies on a still night.
More stations mean more local detail and better forecasts for everyone: farms, travel over the hills, and events in the valley.
How you can share
- Met Office WOW: if your station already uploads to WOW, let us know its site name.
- Ecowitt: set up a custom upload or share your public station page.
- Davis, Ambient Weather or WeatherFlow: send us your public station page link and choose Other in the form.
Your privacy
We store your station's readings and the location you give us, and use them only to improve our local weather model. We never publish exact locations or owner names. Your station shows on our map under a general locality, or under a name you choose. You can withdraw at any time: tell us, and we'll remove your station from the map.
Our forecasts are estimates. For official forecasts and warnings, always check BOM and TasALERT.

Questions about sharing
How do I share a Met Office WOW station?
Sign in to WOW and open your site. Your site ID is shown on the site page, and the page has its own public web address. Put the site ID or the page link in the form.
How do I share an Ecowitt station?
In the Ecowitt app, open your station dashboard, tap the three dots at the top right and choose Share. Pick what to share and for how long, then copy the link. You can also tick Is Public in the device settings so it shows on the Ecowitt weather map. Paste the share link in the form. If you'd rather set up a custom upload, choose Ecowitt custom upload in the form and we'll send you the details.
Do you need my API key or password?
No. We never need keys or passwords, and the form isn't the place for them. If your station only shares through an account login, tell us which service it uses and we'll work out a safe way together.
What do you do with my data?
Once we've checked and approved your station, its readings are shown on Fingal Valley Weather, with a credit to your station, and help our local forecasts learn the valley.
Will my exact location be shown?
No. Exact coordinates stay private. Only the general area you give us is shown.
How often do readings update?
As often as your station uploads to its service, which is usually every few minutes. Our pages pick up new readings regularly through the day.
How do I stop sharing?
Use this form again with the same email and write remove my station in the notes. We'll take it off the website and stop using its data.
Our forecasts are estimates. For official forecasts and warnings, always check the Bureau of Meteorology and TasALERT.
